Ever wondered why people refer to the cliche quote of he or she has a zest for life? Or someone telling you to have a zest for something? A lot of people have a natural zest for life and some have to build up to it. I myself at times fall in the latter. Some mornings I wake up perfectly normal, want to hit the track, & want to get to do all my things on my schedule. Other days I might just lag a bit but I don’t stay in the fogged lag for to long. I’ve learned and grown into having and applying zest to my life. So how can you?
Well, first let’s begin with the layers of a lemon. Yes, a lemon horticulture lesson, not that I’m a gardening expert but I do love me some lemons! So, the lemon has 2 layers. You first have the zest. That yellow bright peel we grate for pies and other amazing and flavorful dishes. The zest gives the lemon its color and is the outermost skin. Then the 2nd layer is called the pith which is the bitter tasting white membrane that surrounds the entire fruit before getting to the good stuff inside. The pith protects the fruit in the inside. The lemon, much like any other thing grown begins from a seed, then a sprout, then a tree, then leaves and flowers. The flowers blossom and pollution begins and leads to a fruit.
Much like a lemon we are both. Sometimes we shine bright and other times we are salty with ourselves. When you first cut into a lemon or zest a lemon, doesn’t it waken up your senses positively? I think so, no matter what kind of mood you begin your day. Think about it this way, there are so many oil based scents out there selling like hot cakes because we can’t get enough of the lemon furniture polish, the sensational flavors of laundry detergents, candles, and sprays! We are all in love with them because its a close resemblance of naturalness. When you first wake up, begin to peel your zest, and shine bright this week.
I’m so excited to be sharing and creating! You friends have been inspiring us to create a headtastic experience to be shared this season! And you literally sold us out last time!
I’m a self-declared headband bandit by default. My beautiful baby daughter is the one who inspired me to attempt to make her a monkey headband. I love a good challenge. Wore a good one to the store and the store clerk was so impressed to know where did I buy it at? An idea sparked and has blessfully grown into these beautiful headbands!
I have been gathering all the good stuff, handcrafting and designing each individual headband with the same love that was put into it for my daughter when she first asked for her monkey headband! There will be no monkeys this time but plenty of fun color, glitz, and glitter all flipped into one!
