Outdoorsy Summer Tablescape| Shop My Home Crafts

From my kitchen to yours! (2)

It’s still Summer time and we are shopping my home for crafts to repurpose! I know many are doing their Christmas in July but this gal just can’t be that much ahead of the times.  I can dabble a little in the July Christmas things but darn it! It’s still Summer!  Just a few days ago, it was 114 with the heat index in Texas!

I found this old Thankful & Blessed Frame that has been circulating around my home so I thought why not shop my home and repurpose for an outdoor ocean theme since I do love me some Summer heat and ocean waves! I used some old brushes, acrylic paint (whatever you have on hand), and an old frame.

Here’s the 1st process of it all. If you want to see the entire beginning process, then follow me on Facebook! https://www.facebook.com/sharetheflippinfun  Many of you already follow me so it didn’t make sense to post up the longer video here.

I changed my mind and added some rainbow type wave to make it a bit more summerish and fun for the mermaid.

This part is totally up to you. You can possibly use some hardy type of glue to position your mermaids or nail them in. I choosed a different route only because of no nails handy and I love the idea of flexibility.

Stay with me on this.

Tada! Here it is! My very Outdoorsy Summer Tablescape! I love it!

We have this very old rusty type of rolling table which we use for our drinks and placing some serving plates and such.  It can easily be dressed up with a swoosh of a clean table cloth! Maybe that will be my next Shop At Home Craft! Thanks for giving me some ideas now!

As I mentioned, you can glue or nail the mermaids. And yes I didn’t use the turquoise mermaid, as you’ve may have already noticed! I repurposed her twice now. See what I meant about opting out of making her a permanent fixture.

I already have some seashell life stuff out back because we love to bring some stuff home from beach visits. I used some of the blue marble for water and sprinkled in some of the seashells sporadically around. And I just so love that the mermaid is jumping into the ocean filled glass! So adorable. Don’t have to be perfect. Just has to be you!

I hope come back now and revisit us soon!

I’m so excited to be sharing and creating! You friends have been inspiring us to create a headtastic experience to be shared this season! And you literally sold us out last time!

SALEs WILL HAPPEN IN THE SHOP TAB!

I’m a self-declared headband bandit by default. My beautiful baby daughter is the one who inspired me to attempt to make her a monkey headband.  I love a good challenge. Wore a good one to the store and the store clerk was so impressed to know where did I buy it at? An idea sparked and has blessfully grown into these beautiful headbands!

I have been gathering all the good stuff, handcrafting and designing each individual headband with the same love that was put into it for my daughter when she first asked for her monkey headband! There will be no monkeys this time but plenty of fun color, glitz, and glitter all flipped into one!

Monday Faith Fire Series #78 | Greater Monday

You either love a Monday or hate them? Which are you? And why do you think that is?

I am actually okay with most Monday’s. I don’t hate them nor do I love them with all my heart. Let me tell you a few things I do dislike and one of them is having an issue or problem. Any issue or problem. They can really mess up one’s week, days, or hours.

So, you have a problem and can’t let it go. It’s just eating you up inside nonstop. Constantly putting all the focus and mental effort onto this new problem in your life. Imagine the spiritual draining happening inside of you.

Now, if we could put the problem away and tuck it into a box for a few hours to allow you to have a greater Monday. To allow yourself a better week. To allow you to have a strong foundation for your work week or family week. To allow you to put the focus07132020 MFF #78 into something much much more greater than the problem at hand.  Nothing is greater than GOD.  He is greater than any problem we will ever have. Seek Him for your comforts, love, help, and guidance to enjoy a much greater Monday.

Pistachio Dessert Salad

This dessert is magically found on the Jello pudding Pistachio box if you can find the one that has the recipe on the box. Let’s begin the good stuff.

First of all, it’s a really easy dessert that can be easily tailored to your preferences. If you want to use less whip then use less whip. But who would dare do that?! Also, feel free to rename it to Pistachio Grinch Dessert for all your Christmas In July Crafters!

Pistachio Dessert Salad

Ingredients:

1 Box Jello Pistachio 3.4 oz box

1 cup Whip Cream

1 cup Minimarshallows

1 20 oz. Crushed Pineapple (You might want to drain some of juice so that the pudding doesn’t get so watered down.)

1/2 cup of shredded Coconut (optional)

1/4 cup of crushed Pecans (optional)

1 Bowl, Mixer, & couple of spoons

Pistachio Dessert Salad (2)

Step 1: Prepare the pudding as box instruction. Allow pudding to set.

Step 2: Mix in all other ingredients. And allow to set for about 1 hour before serving!

A crowd winning pleaser! Bon Appetit!

Some days it’s hard to get started. To get up and get going let alone get started in something you might want to explore into. There are lots of reason why we don’t get started. I am going to list some out and I might miss a lot of them but we are just getting started (pun intended).

Monday Faith Fire Series #77 | You Were Made For Such Moments

In times of happiness and everything is going as expected we feel extra on target, don’t we? We feel a happiness that is elevated throughout all of our being and we shine so bright that nothing can drag us down. Nothing can tumble such glowing moments.  You know, it’s like having the perfect day. Everything goes as expected. The world is our oyster!

The car is filled with gas for your week, the kids woke up not fussing, the spouse and dogs all gave you kisses before your departure, and all the dishes got loaded up into the dishwasher with just a few minutes to spare to enjoy your second cup of coffee.

07062020 such moments

You feel like the moments were made just for you. Everything fell into place so nicely. Then there’s those other moments we butt heads against the wall, nothing is going as it should, and the car gas tank is on E (empty )! Did you ever think to consider that some hard moments are meant just for you as well? You were made for such moments. Even those types of moments. They are useful and sometimes a sign of relief that we need to prepare our selves for greater moments.

We are human and made in the image of GOD but we do get tired. And even more tired when we are trying to figure out how not to have a bad day. Instead of putting all the focus on the bad, focus on the good. For you were made for such moments.

John 4:6,  NIV: “Jacob’s well was there, and Jesus, tired as he was from the journey, sat down by the well. It was about noon.”

Monday Faith Fire Series #76 | Give It Your All

It’s the last Monday for this month and this had me wondering I gave it my all this month?  Did I focus 100% plus this month? This week? This day? Did I give it my all in all the things I do? Quite frankly my answer is “no”. Not a big fat, NO. But a general lower cap “no”. And not even a “punitive no” as in I need to be so hard on myself no.

What I do know is that I shall not falter by the wayside of my own accord when my strength comes from the Lord. There may be hours or days of the month that I just want to rest my body and mind . There are days or weeks that are too scrambled together to make any coherent decisions. And there are days or hours that I can not give it my all & “I just wanna give in!”.  Can anyone relate?

06292020 give it your all

The only way to give it my all is to rest on His word. His mighty love and pillar of strength and grace over me. When I rely on Him rather than finding comfort in my bed or a nice place to lay my head down, though it doesn’t hurt, I find refuge in my mighty GOD to recharge my mind and soul like a cell phone needing to be charged up. And when I surrender everything to Him after my daily chats and prayers do I find solace in His evident love.

Monday Faith Fire Series #75 | Look Again

Have on been on many journeys of my life where I had to take another look. A glance back. A double take mentally. When you are on your path or the path you have in mind, you know the path we think is just right for us. The path no one has a say so in it until that one day. That one moment. That one person. That one trip up. That one spark. That one nudge. That one small distant idea, voice, or intuition pointing us in the right direction.

Like a child waiting for their fav parent to get home from the grocery story with their fav cookies or chips but don’t find anything until they search the last bag. And there are them good goodies they had waited for all along. Like a wife eagerly waiting to open up their anniversary gift from the hubs but nothing happens until late in the evening when she thinks the night has ended. We sit there waiting and anticipating for something great to happen. But they don’t find anything until they look again.

06222020 look again

What I’m trying to tie this into is sometimes our faith gets low and when the blind man could not clearly see the blessing Jesus healed him with the first time. Jesus told him to look again. The blind didn’t say thank you and moved along thinking that was the best this well known man of GOD could do. He told Jesus, he could see but not clearly. Not apologetically.  Not in a demanding bold character. Jesus replied with look again. And then the blind man began to see. To see his vision clear. To see his kids and family now. To see the steps his feet took on the ground.

When faith is low, we need to look again. We need to feel again and know that Jesus is always there for us. We need to look again and see that blessings are coming our way. We don’t see what’s coming until we look again with clear eyes, mind, ears, and spirit.
