From my kitchen to yours! (2)

It’s still Summer time and we are shopping my home for crafts to repurpose! I know many are doing their Christmas in July but this gal just can’t be that much ahead of the times. I can dabble a little in the July Christmas things but darn it! It’s still Summer! Just a few days ago, it was 114 with the heat index in Texas!

I found this old Thankful & Blessed Frame that has been circulating around my home so I thought why not shop my home and repurpose for an outdoor ocean theme since I do love me some Summer heat and ocean waves! I used some old brushes, acrylic paint (whatever you have on hand), and an old frame.

I changed my mind and added some rainbow type wave to make it a bit more summerish and fun for the mermaid.

This part is totally up to you. You can possibly use some hardy type of glue to position your mermaids or nail them in. I choosed a different route only because of no nails handy and I love the idea of flexibility.

Tada! Here it is! My very Outdoorsy Summer Tablescape! I love it!

We have this very old rusty type of rolling table which we use for our drinks and placing some serving plates and such. It can easily be dressed up with a swoosh of a clean table cloth! Maybe that will be my next Shop At Home Craft! Thanks for giving me some ideas now!

As I mentioned, you can glue or nail the mermaids. And yes I didn’t use the turquoise mermaid, as you’ve may have already noticed! I repurposed her twice now. See what I meant about opting out of making her a permanent fixture.

I already have some seashell life stuff out back because we love to bring some stuff home from beach visits. I used some of the blue marble for water and sprinkled in some of the seashells sporadically around. And I just so love that the mermaid is jumping into the ocean filled glass! So adorable. Don’t have to be perfect. Just has to be you!

GOD put us here to be helpful with one another. To help ourselves, our family, help our neighbors, and our friends. We are meant to be relational status people. We need each other. We need people. We can’t be 100% reclusive but at times we need time to recharge and finding great helpful friends to recharge us is so awesome.

GOD himself set up a FAITH community by conjoining the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The community is in us and in us to be a conjoining force to be the help to others. Be the help to family, friends, coworkers, neighbors. A community of helping others is there to encourage one to grow, build, progress, and go beyond one’s limit. It’s there so we can become the best version of us and GOD loves us so much to see us use these gifts.

Friends be the help when GOD puts friends in your path for a reason or a season. Be the best help you can be and offer.

I’m a self-declared headband bandit by default. My beautiful baby daughter is the one who inspired me to attempt to make her a monkey headband. I love a good challenge. Wore a good one to the store and the store clerk was so impressed to know where did I buy it at? An idea sparked and has blessfully grown into these beautiful headbands!

I have been gathering all the good stuff, handcrafting and designing each individual headband with the same love that was put into it for my daughter when she first asked for her monkey headband! There will be no monkeys this time but plenty of fun color, glitz, and glitter all flipped into one!

You have heard of the saying, “Why, can’t we all just get along?” Really? Why can’t we? Is it in us to be unkind and rude? Or is this a inherited? Can it be broken to learn to be kind and have a nice day personality? I say, it’s all. Sometimes we learn to be unkind because of upbringing, hanging around a rough crowd and that rubs off on you. Sometimes we are unkind because we had a bad day. You have the power to be the KIND. If we could all just get along we choose to be kind. Purposely use kind pleasant words. We would be increasing the happiness rate around our world if we use and make our words beautiful, encouraging, happy, joyful, uplifting so they will land on someone’s ears and minds. Go out everyday and choose to be the kind. Be the kind.

Going Way Out

When someone you know is having a rough time getting started, moving around, has some set backs from time to time, take time to go way out of your way to be the encourager. Life is tough sometimes. Sometimes we have some fall downs that can make us feel bad. Sometimes it’s our own heads. Our inner thoughts. Sometimes it can be a spouse that has a certain way of speaking. Instead of discouraging be the encourager of the family. Be the encourager of the group. Be the encourager of the week.

If someone you know is going through a rough time get a funding or prayer group to help them. A little can go a long way and so does prayer, lending a ear, a hand, or money. Go out of your way to pray for your friend or family in distress.

Deep Faith Monday Fire Series #58 | Be The Calming Force

To be calm or not to be calm? That is the question. When out in the real world do people respond to you nicely or in fear? It’s stressful to be around someone who is always uptight, angry, and has a hot temper. It doesn’t make it easy to have a successful team around, let alone keep a happy team together. It’s not much fun. Not much fun to show up, go to work, and stay at work. Would you do it? Could you handle it? I personally couldn’t deal with it even if I needed the job so badly! It would eat me up inside until I got the courage to find a new job. And pray for newness in my life.

It’s difficult to respect an individual and environment that tolerates it. If you know of someone that is normally off their rocker, ask GOD to help them gain control of their anger and emotions in GODly manner. Ask GOD to give you strength to act or react calmly. To be the calming force is like honey to a bee. Be the calm.

Deep Faith Monday Fire Series 54 |Walk In Humility & Wisdom

It’s a great thing to give back to give back. It explodes some happy endorphins and makes not only us happy but the recipient(s) as well. We benefit and so do they. It’s a win win for everyone! Sometimes we can’t help but share that excitement on our social media page(s) and such! It’s a great feeling to be helping others in humility & wisdom. It’s another thing to help others in bragging. Humble people do not need to be recognized, applauded, or call attention to themselves. They bring the attention to the service not themselves.

When a person brings attention to their bragging rights but not living it, this is not real wisdom nor real humility. Bragging rights are qualities that cannot be faked for long. Humble and wise people enjoy and love helping others succeed, grow, and give either thru money, gifts, time, skills, service, or talents. Ask GOD to give you wisdom and understanding in your life toward good deeds without a “Yippy for me” accolades and attitude.

James 3:13 ISV Who among you is wise and understanding? Let him show by his noble conduct that his actions are done humbly and wisely.

Deep Faith Monday Fire Series 52 | Asking For Wisdom

As we wake up every morning and go to bed every night. Day in and day out. Some mornings are like a brain fog even when it’s an absolute beautiful day. You feel perfectly healthy and physically equipped but that brain fog is keeping you from wisdom, growth, and more. This gorgeous Monday morning I woke up feeling that same brain fog. I didn’t go to the gym nor did I sit and read my bible. I sat still and asked GOD for wisdom. Wisdom on how to approach this brain fog over me. It was as if something was purposely keeping me down. I could go about the motions of waking up, moving around, making breakfast, get the kids to school, see the husband off to work and feed the cat. There was nothing extra for me. In my heart, I knew I have to read my bible, workout, take a shower, do a Facebook Live, clean the sink from dishes, get the grocery list ready to go shopping, tidy up the house a bit or not (#somethingsgottagive), do some headband box launch work, work on construction paper, etc. but I couldn’t do any of them. Eventually these things will get all done today just not according to my normal routine time. Not to my plan, but HIS plans. GOD is so good! So I sat, drank my coffee, and silently inwardly asked GOD for wisdom. Asked for wisdom to break free of the Monday morning brain fog. Asked for vision and comforting love from HIM. Asked for many other things and lift this brain fog so I can on about my day and purpose and to make sure I’m spreading HIS great love for us in a GOD loving way HE chooses for me to do.

This Monday morning asking for wisdom is not just asking for genius academic wisdom but the wisdom HE wants to bestow onto you in many ways. Perhaps you are asking for wisdom before you make a decision on a hard choice. Perhaps you are asking for wisdom for the right words to say to your child when they are headed in the wrong direction. Perhaps its the wisdom of words, love, health, finances, or prayer. Nothing is to big for GOD to handle this morning. GOD is so good to us! AMEN! HE even stops us in the brain fog so we can seek HIS wisdom. HE knows there is something wrong and HE delights in our will to seek HIM.

Deep Faith Monday Fire Series 50 |Make It Count

This is the last Monday of the year & I am so happy and filled with gratitude from all the year of hard work. I put intention behind everything I did on this blog, podcast, and making my headbands. I made it count. I made some pivots and hard and scary decisions. I went on lots of LIVES this year and live stories and such. Is it out of my comfort zone? YES! Better believe it Betty!

You may ask, “How do you do it?” My answer is this: No amount of coaching or a coach, groups you’ve joined, visions boards, books you’ve read, no amount of surface stuff will get you anywhere without Making It Count with GOD. Meaning that everything you desire is already tailored and will apply to your case. Meaning that you will figure it out this week and the next.

When you are aligned and are continuously aligned with GOD, ask and seek HIS plans for you rather than you filling in the gaps things begin to become clear. Sometimes GOD just slaps a door open for you, drops an idea in, someone makes a suggestion, you accidently dropped something, your mind is wondering at the red light, your mind occupied with bad stuff going on and HE redirects you. HE is putting up markers for you to start counting with HIM. For some its quick. For others its a longer journey. And for others they have already been inheritly (if that’s a word) blessed. So go with your happy self this Monday and seek to make it count. Make it count with GOD.

GOD doesn’t make problems in our lives, HE helps us to get through them. Even in times of prayer and gratitude we can always learn and grow. Continue to seek HIS will over your daily and weekly to do’s & must do’s. So go on and LIVE.

Deep Faith Monday Fire Series #47 – Ready, Set, & Grow

I 100% believe when you are in constant spiritual growth, spiritual awareness, & spiritual need you can make it all happen. You can make a muddy Monday morning turn into a prosperous rest of the day. Some Mondays are tougher than others for some. For myself, Mondays are great I would say most of the time. It’s the beginning of a new work week, new content, new ideas, & new blog posts. On the family side, it’s a new week to drop off kids at school and perhaps even a few new recipes to make. I also know for a fact my new week doesn’t weigh as evenly as someone else’s new week. They might have had a bad weekend or bad thoughts running through their head with rude or sarcastic manners. Worrying about the bills that are still there even after a weekend rest. I get it. It’s life. It’s check and balance.

You can’t have life happen without GOD by your forefront. Others would say by your side, but you get my point. GOD is a priority to make everything ready, set, and grow. HE makes the Earth spin and stars shine. HE makes the new week appear. HE also gives us free will to make it joyfully appear. To joyfully and happily readjust our sour attitudes to help us get ready, set, and grow for the new week. New bills. New meals. New memories. New paths. New successes. It’s a new week of love, growth, and getting closer to our LORD and HE will then begin HIS amazing work over and onto to us and our generational blessings.
